Privacy Policy

Tafel Learn LLC
Effective Date: June 4, 2026

1. Scope

This policy explains how Tafel Learn LLC collects, uses, stores, and shares information for our undergraduate admissions strategy platform, including BS/MD and similar combined-degree planning.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information, such as name, email, role, and plan status
  • Student profile information, such as grade, school context, location, interests, goals, and intended majors
  • Academic and admissions information, such as coursework, GPA, test scores, school lists, deadlines, activities, essays, drafts, notes, and application materials
  • Combined-degree planning information, such as BS/MD program interests, service experiences, research interests, and pathway preferences
  • Documents and written materials you upload, paste, save, or export
  • Support requests, billing questions, feedback, feature usage, device information, and error logs
  • Limited billing metadata from payment providers

Application materials may include sensitive personal information that you choose to provide, such as demographic information, citizenship or residency information, disability-related information, or health-related information. Do not provide sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary for the feature you request. Tafel does not make admissions, scholarship, or eligibility decisions for schools or third-party programs.

We collect information directly from students, parents or guardians, uploaded documents, support interactions, browser or device activity, payment providers, and service providers that support the platform.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide, personalize, secure, and maintain the platform
  • Generate planning tools, writing support, summaries, trackers, and recommendations
  • Manage access, fulfill purchases, provide support, and prevent fraud or misuse
  • Improve product quality using aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information
  • Comply with applicable law and valid legal requests

4. Automated and AI-Assisted Processing

Some features use automated processing and service providers to organize information, generate requested outputs, summarize records, identify possible gaps, or suggest next steps. We may send relevant portions of your content to service providers that support these features.

We require service providers to process personal information only to provide contracted services to Tafel and to protect it as required by applicable law and our agreements. We do not sell your personal application content. We do not use one student's personal application content to create application materials for another student. We do not send personal application content to third-party services for the purpose of training their general-purpose models.

Certain plans may include human review. Authorized reviewers may access relevant portions of the information you provide to prepare a Strategy Memo or deliver requested support. Strategy Memos are opinions based on the materials you provide. Reviewers do not independently verify transcripts, awards, activities, third-party records, or other factual claims.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the platform, including hosting, authentication, database, storage, email, analytics, monitoring, scheduling, payment, support, and AI-assisted processing providers. We may also share information when required by law, when directed by you, or as part of a business transaction.

If ownership of the business changes and personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy, we will provide notice through email, the platform, or another reasonable method before the new policy applies.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We may use cookies, local storage, log files, and analytics or monitoring tools to authenticate users, remember settings, understand feature usage, diagnose errors, improve performance, and prevent fraud or abuse. Other parties may collect limited technical information through the service as described above. We do not permit third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites or online services for cross-context behavioral advertising. Browser settings may limit some technologies, but parts of the service may not function correctly.

Some browsers offer Do Not Track signals. Because there is not currently a uniform industry standard for responding to these signals, Tafel does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals unless required by applicable law. Tafel does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no such activity for a Global Privacy Control signal to opt out of. If Tafel later engages in activity that qualifies as a sale or sharing of personal information, it will recognize supported Global Privacy Control signals as opt-out requests where legally required.

7. Minors and Parents

The service is not directed to children under 13. A child under 13 may not create an account or use the service. Users who are at least 13 but under 18 may use the service only with the knowledge, permission, and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13, we will stop using the information and delete it promptly using reasonable measures, except to the limited extent retention is legally required. A parent or guardian may contact us about access, correction, export, or deletion requests relating to a minor user.

8. FERPA and Education Records

Tafel is not a school or educational institution subject to FERPA merely because a user uploads education-related records. You control which education-related records you choose to upload. Do not upload school records, recommendation content, or another person's information unless you are authorized to do so.

9. Retention and Security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain records, comply with law, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or misuse, and maintain security. We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no system is completely secure.

The platform may provide deadline reminders and planning tools to help you stay organized. You must independently verify official deadlines with each institution and maintain your own copies of important materials.

Keep your own copies of critical application materials and deadlines. The platform is not intended to be your only storage location for important documents. Tafel is not responsible for missed deadlines resulting from a user's failure to keep independent copies, review official deadlines, or maintain account access.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to personal information, request correction, request deletion, obtain a copy of information you provided, opt out of certain sale or sharing practices, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and appeal a denial of a privacy request. We do not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Deletion requests are honored subject to applicable law. We may retain limited information where retention is required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, misuse investigations, payment records, enforcement of our agreements, or resolution of an ongoing dispute. Where required by law, we will explain the categories retained and the applicable reason for retention.

To submit a privacy request or appeal, contact support@tafellearn.com. We may verify identity before completing a request. If we deny a request in whole or in part, we will explain the reason when required by law, including the categories of information retained and the applicable reason for retention.

11. Your Responsibilities

Do not upload information that is not reasonably necessary for educational planning or application support. Do not upload another person's private information, essays, transcripts, recommendation content, school records, or other materials without permission.

12. Privacy Disputes

Disputes relating to this policy or our privacy practices are subject to the Terms of Service, including the applicable dispute-resolution provisions.

13. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes may be communicated through the platform, by email, or by updating the effective date.

14. Contact
