Common questions
How do I know which plan to buy?
Use timing first. Students in 8th to 10th grade usually start with a fixed 12-month Foundation plan. When the student is entering 11th grade, families typically move to the fixed 24-month Application package through senior-year decisions.
Do plans renew automatically?
No. Tafel plans are fixed-term purchases. Access ends at the conclusion of the purchased term unless your family chooses to make a new purchase.
Why is the Application package 24 months?
Application strategy continues after submission because decisions, updates, letters of continued interest, waitlists, and final college choice still need a plan. The package runs from entering 11th grade through senior-year decisions.
Does this include essay writing?
Tafel helps with essay strategy, evidence selection, prompt fit, repetition risk, and final review. It does not ghostwrite applications.
Does this guarantee admission?
No. Tafel helps families improve the decisions, evidence, school strategy, and application materials they control. Admissions outcomes depend on schools and applicant pools.
What is an expert-edited strategy memo?
A written read of the student’s profile and plan. It explains what is working, what is missing, and what to focus on next. Each memo is edited by an expert before you receive it.

A holistic look at the full profile your family enters in Tafel: academics, activities, major direction, school list, essays, and timing. It is a read that points to clear next moves.
Do we get live calls?
Most guidance comes as written strategy memos, so you have a clear record to reread and act on. Live strategy calls are part of the Guided Plus lane, or available as an add-on.
